Collection: £104.62. Thank you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you to Ron and Ann Crossley, who kindly and generously hosted a Parish Lunch at their home last Sunday, which was much enjoyed by those who attended. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Papal Mass, Cofton Park, Birmingham. We have finally been sent details about tickets for the Mass at which Pope Benedict will beatify the Venerable John Henry Newman. Each parish has been allocated a certain number of tickets – our allocation is 14. If you would like a ticket, please put your name and telephone number on the list at the back of church. If more than 14 people express an interest, there will be a ballot to decide who gets a ticket. The list will close after Mass next Sunday. On the day of the Mass, those with tickets will have to make their own way to a designated point in the deanery, where they will meet in the morning to travel by coach to Cofton Park. It is not possible for people to make their own way to the Park. All pilgrims will be asked to make a contribution of £25 for the cost of travel and a Pilgrim Pack with what is needed for the Mass. There will be no seating provided at the Mass; you must take your own. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prayer for the Papal Visit God of truth and love, your Son, Jesus Christ, stands as the light to all who seek you with a sincere heart. As we strive with your grace to be faithful in word and deed, may we reflect the kindly light of Christ and offer a witness of hope and peace to all. We pray for Pope Benedict and look forward with joy to his forthcoming visit to our countries. May he be a witness to the unity and hope which is your will for all people. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen. Our Lady, Mother of the Church, pray for us. St Andrew, pray for us. St George, pray for us. St David, pray for us. |
