----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Many of you kindly agreed to pray for one of our parishioners, Finn, as he made his preparations for receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist.  He has written something more about this and you will find his message on the notice board at the back of church.  He hopes to make his First Holy Communion on Sunday, 20th June.

May is traditionally a month of devotion to Our Lady.  At the end of every Mass during the month we shall recite the following prayer, which dates from the third century and is the oldest-known prayer to the Blessed Virgin:-

We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God.  Despise not our prayers in our necessities, but deliver us from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

During June, traditionally a month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we shall recite the following prayer at the end of every Mass:-

Sweet Jesus, through Your tender love for the Church, Your Spouse, You opened to her the riches Your Sacred Heart; grant that our hearts may be enriched by the treasures it contains and replenished with its overflowing and unfailing delights.

Heart of Jesus, burning with love for us, inflame our hearts with of You.

Father,

as you have made me

your son/daughter

and sent the Spirit of your Son

into my heart,

grant that I may be led by the Spirit.
